Improve Sleep – Correct Habits – Straighten Teeth
Help your child have a more restful sleep while correcting bad habits and straightening their smile with Healthy Start!
Healthy Start™ is safe, effective and naturally promotes dental growth and development.
If your child’s airway is narrow, constricted or underdeveloped, it will disrupt the balance of oxygen vs carbon dioxide in the bloodstream while sleeping. This will show in your child’s physical and emotional development and can be related to sleep disorder breathing problems.
How the Healthy Start System Works
Healthy Start is a treatment option that does not require pharmaceutical or surgical treatment, making it non-invasive for your child. It is a clinically-proven technique to assist children affected by SDB, a restricted airway, and crooked or crowded teeth. The treatment can start as early as 2 years of age and it could help guide your child’s developing dentition into the correct alignment prior to their adult teeth taking position.
As your child’s mouth develops, the bone structure is easy to adjust and mold. During the Healthy Start treatment, your child will receive a series of comfortable, soft, oral appliances that they wear while they sleep. These appliances will guide the erupting teeth into position, which will assist in the proper development of the airway, resulting in better oral habits and a sound sleep for your child. The correction of the jaws alignment will ensure incoming permanent teeth have the space they need to erupt straight, which could reduce the potential need for braces at a later age.

What to Expect
STEP 1: CONSULTATION – Call Treehouse Dental Care to book a complimentary consultation with our Healthy Start professionals. During this, you will gain further knowledge on the benefits of the system for your child before beginning the program.
STEP 2: TREATMENT - Once you choose to proceed with the treatment your child will be scheduled for two x-rays. The first is a panoramic x-ray which will give imaging of the upper/lower jaw, all present teeth, and their sinuses. The second is a cephalometric x-ray which is from the side to provide a view of your child’s airway. We will also complete orthodontic impressions, photos of their dentition, and after we thoroughly evaluate these materials they will receive their appropriate sleep disorder breathing appliance.
